The Nordic House in Tórshavn is a beautiful light and airy building created as a centre for Nordic and Faroese culture.
It was specially designed, with its impressive grass roof, to blend into the Faroese landscape. In it are a combined concert hall, theatre and cinema, exhibition areas, Klingran an amphitheatre style concert area, a dance room, a café and other facilities.
It is a unique achievement of the Nordic lands, its furniture and construction materials coming from Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. The architects were from Norway and Iceland.
Listasavn Føroya
The Faroese National Art Museum in Tórshavn, in the pleasant setting of the park, is an attractive place to view the paintings, sculptures and graphic art from the museums permanent collection, and the special temporary exhibitions by artists from home and abroad.
The art works are displayed in diverse rooms and corridors that are easy to navigate.
The museum also hosts concerts and other events.
There is a café and shop in the main entrance.
